On the 14th April, 2016, in collaboration with the Radio Television Theater and Arts Workers Union of Nigeria (RATTAWU) and Edo State Broadcasting Corporation EBS, the NAS Medical Mission held in the premises of EBS in Benin City, Edo State.
The event was sponsored by Rahi Initiative, an NGO led by Dr. Chris Ekiyor. Rahi Initiative brought a group of medical personnel including Dr. Chuks Nwaka as Coordinator. Many volunteers from the National Association of Seadogs, Benin provided medical services as well as manage traffic, registration and guide to help make it a successful event.
The program was graced by the NAS Benbow President, Engr. Kenneth Ebhonu, Comrade Courage Osa Asie (RATTAWU Chairman, EBS Chapter); Mr. Friday Okoedion (Deputy General Manager, Corporate Affairs, EBS) representing the General Manager of EBS; Mrs. Peggy Okhikhuare (Public Relations Officer of RATTAWU EBS Chapter); Dr Osamwonyi Abiodun William Irowa (Director of Disease Control) representing the Honorable Commissioner of Edo State Ministry of Health.
Medical services provided to the beneficiaries included blood pressure and blood sugar checks, dental care, eye checkup, free glasses, free medication and general outpatient consultation.
The Aduwawa Community and Staff of EBS took good advantage of this program as it was a beehive of activities in the EBS premises. The many beneficiaries were all attended to between 9am to 4pm.
